Serena Williams has confirmed her participation in the Australian Open, the first Grand Prix of the tennis season, for the first time since her coronation 2017, early in her pregnancy, announced the organizers. The organizers have confirmed that the top 100 players in the world have confirmed their participation in the tournament in January, especially the former first Spanish favorite, Rafael Nadal, who finished the season earlier.
Serena, 37, won the 2017 Australian title by winning her sister Venus, before revealing that she was pregnant and missing for months to give birth to her first baby. The title was number 23 in the Grand Slam tournaments and was the only one in the professional era, just one title behind Australian Open champion Margaret Curt.
