Former Zamalek player Khaled al-Ghandour commented on Sayed Abdelhafiz, the coach of the football club, during which he attacked the Egyptian referees' committee.
Abdelhafiz accused the referees committee chaired by Essam Abdel Fattah of appointing specific referees to lead Zamalek's Premier League matches.
In an interview on "On Sport" satellite TV, Ghandour said, "Saul Abdul Hafeez has not hurt anyone and that is his role."
He added: "Abdulhafeez has been appointed to this position, to export the pressure on the rival team who is certainly willing to badume his duties".
Al Ahly is in first place in the Egyptian league with 20 points in 10 games, while seven games are postponed.
