They are candidates for the title of African player of the year

The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced Friday the list of 10 players vying for the African player title of the year 2018.

According to the website of the Continental Union of Internet gambling, Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool striker and his Senegalese colleague Sadio Mani, as well as the Manchester City player Riad Mehrez, were on the Egyptian list.

(Bayern Munich), Gaborone Pierre Obamiang (Nigeria), Alex Eioubi (Arsenal), Mohamed Benatia (Juventus), André Onana (Cameroon).

Ugandan Denis Onyango was also from South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns, Anis Al Badri, African champions Esperance and Walid Al-Ahly.

Salah won the award last year after a fierce competition with Mani and Obamyang. The awards ceremony will take place this year in Dakar, the Senegalese capital, on January 8, 2019.
