LONDON (Reuters) – Tottenham midfielder Eric Dyer will miss the team next week after undergoing surgery to keep him out of the game, Tottenham said.

Dyer did not play in the win of Primera Liga and Tottenham Hotspur Saturday night at home against Burnley for a 1-0 win.

Tottenham posted on his Twitter page a statement in which he announced that Dyer was undergoing surgery to remove the appendix and indicated that the player would be subject to a qualifying period.

The statement said that Dyer should return to participate in the formation of the team from January, but did not specify a date to start the case.

Tottenham, like all other Premier League clubs, has weeks full of matches from Wednesday when he plays for Arsenal at the Carabao Cup.

Dyer should miss Everton, Bournemouth, Wolverhampton, Cardiff City and Manchester United over the next period.

Dyer has played 17 games with Tottenham this season, in all competitions, and scored two goals.
