Five children have died since Wednesday night in Al-Hada district, in Dhamar governorate, following the sudden spread of measles among children in the past two days.
Human rights activist Mohammed Nbader Abu Atef said five children had died since Wednesday night, the last of them having died Thursday morning in the city of Beit Abu Atef alone, while dozens of children were still suffering from the disease.
Residents called on the Yemeni Red Crescent and the International Red Cross to halt the spread of the epidemic and save the children, as well as an urgent vaccination campaign.
