Reuters reported in 2016 that a businessman with links to Putin had transferred real estate property to Alina's sister and grandmother.
Kabayeva was born on May 12, 1983 in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan, and is part of a sports family where his father was a football player.
At the age of three, she started gymnastics and became a sports star later: she won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and the medal Bronze at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, reported Sun newspaper.
Kabayeva's fame reached its peak after the publication of a Russian newspaper owned by billionaire Alexander Lebedev for his article on a secret relationship with Putin that resulted in the closure of the newspaper in 2008.
Kapayeva has made cover of several international magazines such as Vogue and Mattel has been working on producing a Barbie doll like her.
