Oman coach Ali Al Habsi has been banned from the selection for the 2019 Asian Cup in the UAE.
"The national team has decided to exclude Ali Al Habsi from the list of participants in the 2019 Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates in the context of the results of the medical examinations he underwent in Abu Dhabi,
The medical team revealed that Habsi had a second-degree tear in the left thigh muscle that required treatment for three weeks, making participation in the tournament difficult.
Al-Habsi, Saudi Arabia's top scorer at Al-Hilal, was beaten 4-3 by Al-Ahly in a league match on Friday.
