Barcelona's Lionel Messi has revealed his priorities in life and his rival with Cristiano Ronaldo, the historic striker of Real Madrid, and his current striker, Juventus.
"I like football, but for me the family is in first place," he said. "The competition with Ronaldo is fantastic and interesting for the fans."
"I heard the names of the prize candidates and I realized that I would not dispute them," said Argentine star Luka Modric.
"I knew I would not be among the best candidates," said Messi. "I have not heard if I would be second, third, fourth or fifth."
Messi and Ronaldo have won the Golden Ball award in the last decade (since 2007), each with a five point record.
