LONDON (Reuters) – Liverpool captain Simon Francis will be out of the season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury in his right knee during Wednesday's game against Tottenham, the Bournemouth club said on Thursday.
The 33-year-old defender was injured Wednesday in the 5-0 defeat and will be away for six to nine months.
"It's a blow to us, to lose our captain and a player who has always performed very well for the team," said coach Eddie Hoy on the club's website.
