LONDON (Reuters) – Samir Nasri has been drafted by West Ham United for the rest of the season after the French midfielder ended his 18-month suspension for doping.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder has been training with West Ham since last month and can return to the stadium from Tuesday.
"I chose a club and a project because of his ambition and I think West Ham has all the ingredients to become one of London's biggest clubs," Nasri told West Ham United.
"I'm back in the best league in the world and in the ranks of an ambitious team and with a coach I know very well.
The club added that he had the option of extending the player's 31-year contract for an additional year.

Nasri was initially suspended for six months for using a prohibited treatment method on the AMA ban list, but the suspension was extended to 18 months in August due to the call filed by the EU Committee on Values and Discipline.
Nasri played for Arsenal between 2008 and 2011, before joining Manchester City to win two League and League Cup matches, before leaving the team under Pep Guardiola's leadership.
The former French international signed a loan of one season with Seville in 2016 before settling permanently in Turkey, alongside the Spurs Anatolia, which he left by mutual consent in January. .
