"I'm proud to be the most successful club to win the American league title," Skelotto said in a statement.
"It's a huge opportunity for me and I'm looking forward to it." Los Angeles Galaxy has been a top player for years in the American league and I am ready to push the club to an even higher pitch.
Dominique Kinnar, who was temporarily in the position after Siji Schmid's resignation in September, will take office. Schmid died on December 25th.
"After much research locally and internationally, we think Guillermo is the best choice for the team," said Denis T. Clausi, general manager of the club.
Guillermo proved he could win titles and had experience in training, play and victory with the big clubs.
We hope that Guillermo's training and his knowledge of the American league will bring the titles to Los Angeles Galaxy and Los Angeles. "
Skelotto, 45, has spent most of his 16-year career with Boca. He won the Libertadores Cup three times and scored 86 goals.
He has participated in ten matches for the Argentine national team.
