The Swedish authorities announced today that a person was being treated at Uppsala University Hospital in Sweden after being diagnosed with Ebola.

The patient initially entered the Incubing Hospital before being transferred to Uppsala. The authorities reported that the Enkoping Emergency Department had been closed down and that workers treated with the patient were being examined.

This remains a suspicion and it is quite possible that the person is infected with another disease, "said the local authorities in a statement.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, symptoms such as fever and colic can occur up to three weeks after exposure to the deadly virus.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the six-month Ebola outbreak killed 356 out of 585 people.
