The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for next June, to Egypt.
KAF withdrew the file from the Cameroon organization for lack of preparation and for security reasons.
The Egyptian file has overtaken South Africa, which submitted a dossier to win the organization, after granting 16 votes to Egypt, while South Africa received a vote and abstained.
This is the first time that the Africa Cup of Nations is held with the participation of 24 teams.
Egypt organized the Nations Cup four times in 1959, 1974, 1986 and 2006.
Egypt is the winner of the 2007 Nations Cup in 1957, 1959, 1986, 1998, 2006, 2008 and 2010.
