The Chinese Yoto 2 (Jade 2) sent a panoramic image of his landing site on the far side of the moon, showing a gray rocky nature with many craters.
China has so far spoken of "total success" for this unique mission in the history of the invasion of space. On January 3, the unmanned Chinese vessel "Chang A4" managed to land on the moon, on its hidden side of the Earth, for the first time in the history of the invasion of space . A few hours later, the Yoto 2 probe was dropped on the surface to be studied.
The hidden side does not appear to the Earth because the Moon during its rotation remains only one face and that the second is blocked. Many pictures of him were taken, but no vehicle landed. The first of these was taken in 1959 and taken by a Soviet investigation. The new image was taken with a camera installed on the vehicle and released Friday by the Chinese Space Agency.
360 degree panoramic view showing part of the vehicle, a gray rocky area and the effects of the probe wheels. The vehicle appears in the photo surrounded by small craters, according to Li Shunlai, an official of the Chinese Space Agency. Scientists call the landing site the name of the "Titanic Basin" located at the South Pole of the Moon. This basin is only a huge crater caused by a collision, the largest known solar system.
This photo shows that the experts are facing a major challenge in the operation of the probe, because of the many craters. This is the second time that China sends a vehicle to explore the moon after the probe "Yoto" (Jade Rabbit) in 2013, which lasted 31 months. But landed on the opposite side of the earth. The new probe will conduct studies on low waves, mineral resources, and the potential for growing tomatoes and other plant species.
