Remarkably, the Russian team continued the race and did not provide the necessary badistance to the spectator, who suffered a fracture to the bone of his right thigh.
The Russian crew was expelled from the Dakar by decision of the referees, although the Russian team confirmed that the driver did not see the victim during the incident.
