Many TV manufacturers at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2019), which was held last week in Las Vegas, announced that they would soon be adding Apple AirPlay 2 support to some of their new TVs. . Vizion was one of those companies, knowing that she revealed new details that will bring happiness to many of her clients. The company has now confirmed that all SmartCast TVs released in 2016 will benefit not only from Apple AirPlay 2 support, but also from the HomeKit platform.
When Apple released its list of compatible AirPlay 2 TVs, the 2017, 2018, and 2019 models only reported Vizion TVs. There were no 2016 models in the list even though they are part of the SmartCast and use the same hardware as the 2017 models.
Now, Vizio has decided to confirm what we said above directly on Twitter. Twitter's official support account has confirmed that all 2016 Vizio 4K UHD SmartCast 2016 models will support integration with AirPlay 2 and Apple's HomeKit. This means that if you still have one of these televisions, you will also be able to take advantage of them.
Vizio is actually one of the companies that have decided to support the aforementioned Apple features in its old TVs. Samsung has confirmed that it would support AirPlay 2 from its 2018 Smart TVs, while LG has confirmed that it would support this feature in the 2019 Only models.
