Dr. Amal Saeed, a professor of microbiology and immunology at Ibn Sina College, told us that women in Saudi Arabia are more affected than men by a hidden burden. For the following reasons:

- The divorce of a woman or the death of her husband is a hidden burden.
- Women badume some of the material responsibilities.
- Working women are more exposed than others because of the many tasks between home and work.
- Mothers are more likely than single mothers to be hidden.
The hidden burden and its relation to diseases:
Continuous physical and psychological stress on the person results in changes in the level of the hormones, which causes problems for the functions of the heart, kidneys, liver and pancreas. Many studies have shown a link between chronic stress and heart disease such as hypertension and hyperglycemia. Not to mention the psychological effects and influence on concentration, memory, appetite and sleep.
