WASHINGTON (Reuters) – NASA said it was in touch with the Chinese space agency and that it had limited coordination with it to explore the moon. Any cooperation should be subject to strict rules to prevent the transfer of US technology to China.
NASA's chief scientist Tomas Rosbukin wrote on Twitter Friday that his agency was in talks with China to use a US satellite to monitor unmanned Chinese Chang A4, which landed on the moon on March 3 .
Wu Yanqua, the head of the Chinese Space Agency, said at a press conference Monday that his agency had provided the US agency with a landing site "Chang A 4" intended to be the American lunar "orbiter" capable of taking pictures of the moment of landing.
