Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, chairman of the UAE's General Sports Authority, stressed that the UAE was not seeking to transfer the 2022 World Cup from the State of Qatar.
"I am happy to have the World Cup in the Arab region, to support the tournament and not to leave the State of Qatar," Al-Rumaithi said at a meeting at the Summit world of sports leaders in Abu Dhabi.
"The establishment of the World Cup in Asia will give the continent more seats, because we have many teams that deserve to participate in the World Cup," he said.
Khalfan Al Rumaithi added, "The UAE and Saudi Arabia have great stadiums and can accommodate any event."

"Asian football has the potential to be in a better position, as the continent has a strong economy and great infrastructure, and we need to focus on producing generations that can compete globally."
"We are delighted that the Asian Cup team has brought to the Golden Square, despite the circumstances and the absence of more than one influential player," Al Rumaithi said.
The UAE team lost four points against Qatar in the UAE's Asian Cup semi-finals.
