(Reuters) – Liverpool midfielder Alex O 'Sullid-Chamberlain has entered the Champions League finals as the English Premier League prepares to return to the matches after more than nine months of knee injury.
The 25-year-old suffered an operation after fracturing the cruciate ligament in his right knee during the defeat against Roma in the Champions League final last season, thus missing the World Cup final in Russia.
Despite the concern that he may be missing this season, Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp confirmed in December that the player had made progress in his recovery program and that he would be present with the team in the second half of the season.
Liverpool, former champion of the previous edition, will host Bayern Munich in the knockout stages of the Champions League on 19 February.
