(Reuters) – Newport County on Tuesday beat Middlesbrough's fourth-league rivals 2-0 in the fourth round of the FA Cup to give Manchester City a spot.
Wolverhampton Wanderers, the rival of the Premier League 3-2, defeated Shrewsbury Town.
They also qualified for the fifth round of Queens Park Rangers after a 2-0 win over Portsmouth.
The Brent amateur adventure ended with a 3-1 defeat at Brentford.
Newport County, the Premier League champion in 2016, will play in the third round and face another giant in the fifth round, the first since 1949.
The Queens Park Rangers will play in the next round with London's Watford, while Brentford will play in Swansea City.
