"I think it was very disappointing and I know that many Australians have been upset, and the Thai Prime Minister has rightly said that the Australians show him great sympathy," Morrison told Sky News.

Thai Prime Minister Praioth Chan-Ocha said on Tuesday that his government could not intervene in court proceedings.
"Do not rush the results on the verdict and not politicize the case," he told reporters.
Thailand's foreign minister, Don Pramodwinai, said Australia and Bahrain should negotiate a solution.
"We are not worried about this and it is an issue that both countries should talk about," he told reporters.
"If you can not find a solution, Thailand is ready to mediate, and I am convinced that the problem will not worsen, but that it will remain prudent for the time being in the care of the Thai authorities. .
Oreibi was found guilty of destroying a police station in his country in 2014 and sentenced to 10 years in prison in absentia.
But Oreibi denies any offense, claiming that he "was playing in a live match at that time".
