Scientists from the University of Oxford in England have discovered an original cell that stimulates all cancers and allows the disease to spread.
Tests have shown that this cell, exploding in a zombie-like state, creates tumors and stimulates the deadly disease.
Scientists have described their discovery as being similar to the process of finding a needle in a haystack, but results that could rewrite medical textbooks on cancer growth could end current treatments such as chemotherapy.
Scientists talk about cancer caused by the return of dead cells to life, or so-called zombie cells, that is, the original cell is separated from the ocean and that macrophages are destroyed, causing a proliferation of malignant cells and the formation of tumors, said Professor Michael Lesanti, author of the study.
Lesanti warned that some types of chemotherapy could encourage stem cell proliferation, which could promote tumor growth.
In this study, researchers examined two human bad tumor specimens and used fluorescent markers to isolate the most active cells taken from the laboratory.
A small proportion of cells that are now active, cancer stem cells have much more energy than others, as well as their ability to create tumors and high proliferation rates.
It's hard to know how rogue cells emerge from the state of the pyramid, a process badociated with aging that causes them to end, to freeze and stop reproduction, but researchers believe that these cells could use antioxidants and the mitochondria, the power of the cells to launch the attack.
