The Spanish Ministry of the Presidency and Public Health denied in a statement that there was a warning badociated with swine flu in Melilla or the surrounding area.
The ministry said that the National Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Carlos III Institute had not mentioned anything more than the normal rate during this period of influenza in Melilla and in the rest of Spain.
This statement comes after several Moroccan news websites reported the presence of an alert at the hospital in Melilla due to the receipt of cases of the H1N1 virus that caused the swine flu.
