Cancer kills thousands of Algerians every year, according to official figures, recently announced by the Algerian Ministry of Health.

The ministry revealed that the rate of infection of Algerians with cancer reached 103.3 cases per 100,000, against 41 departments to fight against the disease and 77 to fight against the malignant disease of chemotherapy, while the proportion cases of delayed illness after treatment increased to 75% of the total number of cases. Algerian children are also suffering from this malignant disease, as specialists have revealed that the number of children infected with cancerous tumors in Algeria has recorded an annual increase of 1,500 cases.

They recognized the difficulties they face in treating children with cancer, due to lack of beds and radiotherapy devices in public hospitals, with the corresponding pressure exerted on the few surgical interests of cancer.

Doctors say that the body and immunity of children differ from those of the elderly, because they spread malignant tumors very quickly in their bodies, which requires rapid intervention to save their lives.
