A US court on Monday dropped charges of raping Portuguese star and Juventus player Cristiano Ronaldo in Las Vegas, USA.
"After reviewing a new police investigation, he decided that allegations of badual abuse could not be substantiated and that, therefore, Ronaldo would not be charged," said prosecutor Steve Wolfson in a statement.
Katherine Mayorga, an American, accused Ronaldo of having raped her at a Las Vegas hotel complex in 2009, claiming that the star of Juventus had badaulted her in her hotel, in her wing.
Ronaldo's representative for the defense, Peter Christiansen, said that "the relationship was an agreement between the two parties".
Mayorga says that Ronaldo or "those who work for him" have authorized the publication of the details of a financial regulation.
The lawyers of Maurega, model and former teacher, have made no comment on the court's decision to drop the lawsuits against Ronaldo.
