According to Kharijiyah, this initiative will create shorter, faster, cheaper and safer regional trade routes and help strengthen the economies of Jordan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and even Iraq.
The current infrastructure in Israel, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries will allow the implementation of this initiative in a relatively short time, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The plan refers to the Haifa Hijaz Historic Road, which was reopened in 2016. This line will be developed to the Jordanian border to the Jordanian border crossing, as well as to the Jalameh crossing. and Jenin to allow Palestinians to connect to this line and then expand to Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States. Promote the economic growth of Palestinians.
A large and modern freight loading station will be set up in Jordan to transport cargo to all countries in the region, which will significantly strengthen the Jordanian economy.
The steel network of Saudi Arabia, which currently includes a north-south line connecting the Jordan-Saudi Arabian border and the Persian Gulf, will be developed with a view to the expected growth of trade in the region .
"This will make the initiative profitable in 10 years and revive the Iraqi economy," the ministry said.
The volume of trade on the land bridge will reach about 250 billion dollars in 2030, which is four times the volume of trade currently pbading through Israeli ports.
The transport of goods by road and by rail will depend on the security risks posed by Iran in the straits of Hermes and Bab al-Mandeb. This initiative could strategically strengthen the camp of moderate countries in the region.
