Egyptian artist Farouk al-Fishawi died yesterday at dawn after a long fight against cancer at the age of 67.
The crowd of artists, lovers, friends and spectators attended the funeral of the "Hawi al-Fan" and at the burial of his body until his last Resting place, while his son, the artist Ahmed al-Fishawi, was carrying the body on his shoulders at a time when the late artist Sumaya al-Alfi's wife was in a state of collapse .
The Egyptian trade union of the theater professions called Al-Feshawi said: "We curse the great artist Farouk al-Fishawi, he was a symbol of Egyptian art and will remain".
Al-Feshawi bequeathed a considerable legacy to Egyptian and Arab art with 148 films, 71 series and 14 plays.
