Carmen Perez, president of the competition committee of the Spanish Football Federation, announced that the first and second division matches will not be played on Friday and Monday of each week of next season, unless authorized of the Football Association.
The competition committee announced its decision after the Spanish league announced that it would schedule the first three rounds of matches next season, thus setting the opening match between Athletic Bilbao and Barcelona on Friday, August 16th.
