Huawei will use HiSilicon processors in several of its devices to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm

According to the component suppliers, Huawei seems to want to reduce its dependence on the Qualcomm and MediaTek processors by replacing it with its HiSilicon processors. Huawei is expected to use its HiSilicon Kirin Series processors in approximately 60 percent of the devices it plans to launch in the second half of this year.

On the other hand, in the second half of 2018, Huawei used its HiSilicon Kirin Series processors in less than 40% of its peripherals, compared to around 45% in the first half of this year. Therefore, in the second half of this year, HiSilicon Kirin Series processors will be used in more than 150 million Huawei devices, the Chinese company planning to provide 270 million smart phones in 2019.

Huawei has long relied on its core HiSilicon Kirin processors, but most of its mid-range and low-cost smartphones were based on Snapdragon and MediaTek processors. Things have changed and HiSilicon Kirin 810, the recently launched support, clearly indicates that Huawei is considering making changes to its smartphone plans. So, do not be surprised if you find that HiSilicon Kirin 810 is the heartbeat of many intermediate and inexpensive phones from Huawei.

In fact, Huawei seems to want to follow in the footsteps of Apple, which has adopted the strategy of self-sufficiency as much as possible for many years, especially after the setback suffered by the Chinese company recently banned by the US government to deal with American companies. Thus, the autonomous Huawei company will avoid a similar scenario in the future with any other country, not just the United States of America.
