The latest report from market research firm Counterpoint Research focuses on smartphone shipments to India in the second quarter of this year. During this period, 37 million smartphones were shipped, representing a new record and a leap forward compared to the same period last year.
BBK Electronics, which includes Oppo, Vivo, Realme and OnePlus, is India's best-selling smartphone, responsible for 30% of the country's smartphones. Asus, HMD Oy Global, Realme and OnePlus are the fastest growing brands on an annual basis.
Xiaomi is again India's leading smartphone maker with a 28% market share, thanks to its growing smartphone portfolio and the continued marketing of its smartphones over the Internet. Samsung ranks second with 25% thanks to the strong performance of the Galaxy A and Galaxy M series, while Vivo completes the top three with an 11% market share thanks to strong sales of the Vivo Y91 series. For the fourth and fifth positions, Realme and Oppo were in charge.
