Ferrari appeared to be the fastest car during the free trials, its pbadengers having made the three tries until they reached critical qualifying. The German got out of his car 4 minutes ago to be the last pole of his race since he recorded no time.
Lando Norris joined the list of first division drivers placing 16th with Alexander Albon, Williams Williams and Robert Coptsa.
For the first time this season, Lance Stroll has qualified for the second qualifying division.

Like Vettel, Versthaben told Red Bull that he had lost energy because of his engine as he was entering the maintenance area to try to repair the holidays. And indeed, the Dutchman returned to the ring with 5 minutes left to finish the section on soft tires.
