Training course for the preparation of mine-awareness activists for the Lebanese Health Care Association

The Lebanese National Commission for Mine Risk Education, the Lebanese Association for Health Care and Social Affairs and the University of Balamand, under the supervision of the Lebanon Demining Center in Lebanon, organized a training course active preparation for mine risk education and cluster bombs for defense leaders. Civil Society of Al-Resala Health Aid Society – at the Beirut and Bekaa Commission, with the support of Unicef, at the regional mine clearance school of the center, in presence of the coordinator of the mine action program at the University of Balamand, Lebanese Health Care Association Member of the national committee Nader Hamdan.

The course included several training sessions on the definition of types and types of mines and cluster bombs, on the mechanisms for generalization, planning and implementation of EDM activities and on the introduction of International agreements in this area by officers of the Lebanese Lebanese Defense Clearance Center and professors of the University of Balamand.

Trainees also participated in field work in a fictional field on how to explore mines, cluster bombs and the role of trained mine detection dogs.

The training ended with the distribution of the activist guide to trainees.
