Our Arab Chess Champion – Statement

Our national chess team has been crowned Arab individual champion of the Arab Sunni Games organized by the Arab League for the Jordanian Royal Chess Club in the Jordanian capital Amman. She has won 14 medals, including 5 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 6 bronze medals. Abdulaziz Al-Mualla, president of the Federation and several members of the Arab Union, won the crown with medals at the closing ceremony of the championship.

Our players and players have won 5 gold medals by Omran Al Hosani under 20, Ammar Al-Sadrani (under 16), Afia Darwish (under 16) for women, Latifa Al Darmaki in under 14 and Rashid Al Hammadi in the category "" The three silver medals were awarded to Aisha Saif Al Ali under 16, in Fatima Saif Al Ali under 14 for girls and to Hamad Al Shamsi under 12 for boys.

The mission returned to the country yesterday via the Sharjah International Airport. Algeria won second place with 16 medals – 4 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze – followed by Lebanon with 6 medals, Jordan with 5 medals and the other medals. Iraq and Syria in fifth place with 3 medals.
