Qatar's trade surplus drops 22% in June

Doha: Qatar's trade surplus fell by 22.4 percent in June, according to a statement from the Ministry of Planning and Development Statistics.

Qatar's trade surplus last month was 13.954 billion riyals ($ 3.849 billion), up from 17.993 billion riyals ($ 4.964 billion) in June 2018.

Thanks to the trade surplus, total exports fell by 18.2% in June to Rs. 22.015 billion, compared to Rs. 26.906 billion in the same month last year.

Exports of "oil and other gaseous hydrocarbons" decreased to 12.7 billion RS, "crude oil and mineral oil of crude oil" to 4.1 billion RS and exports of "petroleum oils and petroleum oils". oils extracted from "non-gross" continental minerals at 1.8 billion rupees.

With regard to Qatari imports, the value of the country's imports decreased by 9.6 percent to RIM 8,061 billion in June 2018, reaching about R8,913 billion in June 2018.

The statement pointed out that the group of "jet turbines, blast furnaces, other gas turbines and their components" was at the top of the list of imports of commodities at R $ 0.5 billion, followed by the range of "ordinary aircraft and helicopter parts" of 0.4 billion riyals, then telephone electrical appliances, 0.2 billion riyals.

On a monthly basis, Qatar's trade surplus increased 2.6%, with imports down 14.2%, despite a 3.4% decline in exports.

With regard to trade with Qatar, Japan tops the list of countries receiving Qatari exports, with 4.165 billion riyals, or 18.9% of the country's total exports.

The United States tops the list with 1.807 billion rand, accounting for 22.4% of total country imports in June.
