Zenit Petersburg won the first round of the Russian Premier League with a 2-0 win at Oranburg on Sunday.
The visitors surprised the hosts with a quick goal from the Iranian striker Sardar Azzmon in the first minute of the whistle.
Striker Artium Dzieuba doubled the score in the 55th minute with a penalty.
The defending champion, Zenit Petersburg, won his third consecutive victory and is now at the top of the standings with a total of 9 points.
However, Orenburg suffered a third consecutive loss, finishing 15th in the championship.
