US consumer confidence improved in July, reaching its highest level this year.
The consumer confidence index rose from 124.3 points in June to 135.7 points this month, according to data released by the Conference Board.
Analysts have anticipated the US consumer confidence index, which is expected to reach 125.1 points this month.
The data showed that consumers were more optimistic about their financial resources, with signs of economic growth in the US since the beginning of the year and that they thought it was easy to find jobs with the sharp drop in unemployment.
The index of current conditions rose from 164.3 points last month to 170.9 points in July.
The index also rose to 112.2 points this month, after 97.6 points in June.
