An ambush and raid conducted by the Information Division. And the outcome of the arrest of a gang
Issued by the Public Relations Directorate of the Directorate General of Internal Security Forces, the following statement:
"As part of the qualitative operations carried out by the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces to identify the identity of the gangs of car thieves and their arrest throughout the Lebanese territory, which led to the arrest of a large number of wanted people and seizure of several stolen cars.
Through daily monitoring of the units concerned in this division, the activity of new gangs was identified and several car thefts were perpetrated in the governorate of Mount Lebanon.
On the other hand, field and information procedures were initiated at the locations where the thefts were committed and the Division developed a plan to prevent theft and arrests.
As a result, the Information Division has tasked its own group with surveillance in areas likely to be robbed, as well as ambushes on routes used by these gangs to transport stolen vehicles to the Bekaa.
On 27/7/2019, thanks to the measures taken, the Special Force of the Information Division was able to monitor a Hyundai Tucson car in the district of Dahr al-Baidar, stolen on the same date in the district of 39, Al-Fanar, which resulted in the arrest of the two thieves,
– Mr. G. (Born in 1998)
– F. S. (Born in 1991)
And the seizure of the stolen vehicle in addition to the tools used in the robbery and a firearm.
They raided their partner's house in Sin al-Fil and arrested:
– c. D. (Born in 1989, Lebanese)
The car was seized during burglaries.
They also admitted that they tried to steal a car in Al-Sabtiyeh district on June 27, which resulted in the car being broken without being stolen.
The stolen car was handed over to the owner and the legal obligation was made against him.
