The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, sent a letter to members of the House of Representatives, through the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nabih Berri, asking for the interpretation of the law. Article 95 of the Constitution, in particular paragraph b.
The letter states: "Article 95 of the Constitution requires the interpretation of paragraph (j) of its introduction, in accordance with the rules of constitutional interpretation, in order to preserve our Charter, our national consensus and our common life, which are essential to the existence of Lebanon and in all respects.
We reserve the constitutional right and duty of our position, our role and our oath by taking the measures we consider compatible and the Constitution in the areas that concern us in this letter. The interpretation of your Council helps to enlighten and enlighten any constitutional authority concerned with these issues. "
