(Reuters) – US stocks of crude oil fell last week to their lowest level since early November, the US Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday.
Gasoline stocks and distillates also declined.
Crude oil inventories were down 8.5 million barrels in the week ending July 26, compared with badysts' forecasts of a drop of 2.6 million barrels, the department said.
Gasoline inventories fell 1.8 million barrels, while badysts polled by Reuters had forecast a drop of 1.4 million barrels.
Data from the Energy Information Administration also showed that distillate stocks, including diesel and heating oil, have fallen by 894,000 barrels, while a million barrels is expected to increase.
Net US crude oil imports increased by 353,000 barrels per day to 4.09 million barrels per day.
