The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received today at the Baabda Palace the Governor of the Bank of Lebanon, Mr. Riad Salama, and presented him the financial situation of the country and the work of the units of the Bank of Lebanon. After the meeting, Mr. Salama said that the financial situation is stable and that he has presented to the President a number of initiatives that the Bank of Lebanon intends to lead to revive the Lebanese economy.
Governor Salameh said the publication of the 2019 budget was an important factor in the country's financial stability.
Insurance Brokers in Lebanon
President Aoun received Mr. Elias Hanna, President of Insurance Brokers in Lebanon, with a union delegation and briefed them on the work of insurance brokers and future projects developed by the union. President Hanna thanked Aoun for the attention he gave to the union and announced that after the meeting of the executive board of the Association of Mediterranean Insurance Brokers (FMBA ) held in Paris on June 13, 2019, the proposal was signed by the Lebanese Association of Insurance Brokers (LIBS). The creation of a Union of Arab Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers, based in Lebanon, has been signed by four countries – Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and Oman – and signed by the rest Arab countries. He wished to lend his support to the Union by sending a recommendation to the League of Arab States so that it could be distributed to all Arab countries. President Hanna has invited President Aoun to attend the union's annual meeting on December 12, which brings together more than 750 members of the insurance sector, economic organizations in Lebanon, insurance companies, insurance brokers and more. Insurance and reinsurance, specialized management services companies such as TPA, Among the ministers directly or indirectly related to the sector, such as the Minister of Economy and Trade, the Minister of Finance, etc., and a number of Directors General of these ministries. Also attending the meeting were the president of the Industrialists Association, the heads of several committees, including the Administration and Justice Committee, the finance committee, the health committee, the committee control of security organizations and the president of the Association of Security Enterprises in Lebanon. This meeting will give a strong boost to the economic sector in general and to the insurance sector in particular, which is the second largest financial sector in Lebanon. "
