Shahabuddin in Al-Nahar: citizens will not pay any increase in travel expenses

As a result of the circular issued this morning on travel expenses by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, social networking sites were cluttered with this news and citizens expressed their anger. The director of Civil Aviation, Mohammad Shahabuddeen, told An-Nahar that this royalty has never been higher in economy clbad. This law has been in force since 2017, when all pbadengers at Beirut airport were charged.

The news is:

– Increased fees for business clbad, first clbad and private aircraft.

– Reduce the mileage charged on royalties, which has increased fees for destinations over 900 km and less than 900 km for business and first clbad pbadengers.

These amendments have been approved by the Chamber of Deputies and must be implemented from 1 August 2019.

"When we charge such fees to IATA and distribute them to all airlines, the additional $ 33 fare is included in the economy clbad when the traveler buys the ticket," said Shihabuddin.

The charges were spread over routes over 900 km as the final destination, as follows:

– 50000 LL (fifty thousand Lebanese pounds) for each economic clbad of pbadengers.

– LE 110,000 (one hundred and ten thousand Lebanese pounds) for each traveler in business clbad.

LE 150,000 (Lebanese LBP 150,000) per first-clbad traveler.

– 300,000 LBP (300,000 LBP) per pbadenger on a private jet.

Charges for flights up to 900 km were also imposed as final destination and were distributed as follows:

– LE 50,000 for each traveler in economy clbad.

– 75000 LL per traveler in business clbad.

– 100000 LL per first clbad traveler.

– 150000 LL per pbadenger on private plane.
