Industrial activity in Turkey decreases for the 16th month in a row

ISTANBUL (Reuters) – The Turkish manufacturing sector contracted in July for the 16th month in a row, an investigation revealed on Thursday.

The manufacturing PMI rose from 47.9 in June to 46.7 in July, thus falling in line with the 50-point threshold between growth and contraction, said a panel of the House from the Istanbul industry and IHSMarket.

Data showed in July that, overall, new orders continued to decline in a difficult market environment, but a relatively positive export profile encouraged some manufacturers to increase their production.
