Shihada honors the first hybrid plants in the Arab world

Amoun – The Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Ibrahim Al-Shahaheda, paid tribute to the first Arab graduate of the hybridization of vegetables from the European Academy of California, the Rami engineer Salah Al-Oloif.

He pointed out that hybridization of plants has become an urgent need to produce varieties resistant to fungal, bacterial and viral diseases and highly productive.

The Plant Hybridization Academy of the University of California has produced more than 333 hybrid species from 66 countries.

He pointed out that the seed sector is making great progress, export value and high quality. These skills enriched and were an important driver of development, pointing out that Jordan exported to more than 50 countries and that new markets would be available for seeds next year,
