Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, chaired the third session of the Ministerial Meeting on Health, Population and Drug Control under the title Africa Beyond Declaration policy and plan of action on international cooperation for an integrated and balanced strategy to combat the world drug problem.

Mr. Hala Zayed stressed that it was important to step up efforts to fight against terrorism, which deprives the people of one of the essential life principles recommended by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Republic and President of the African Union, as one of the most important human rights.
At the meeting, Zayed explained that the African continent is a young continent and that young people are the most vulnerable to the danger of drugs. Therefore, sanctions should be intensified and international laws adopted to limit their spread.
The minister urged African countries to follow Egypt in this step, recommending the distribution of drug and narcotic drug lists with all relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Justice. Income, to include updated lists of drugs in response to the World Health Organization.
For her part, Cristina Albertin confirmed that the results of the meetings of the specialized technical committee testify to the determination of the African countries to tackle the drug problem on the continent.
She also stressed that the meeting of counter-narcotics officials in Geneva aimed to strengthen the African common voice to fight the drug problem and to make political commitments to drug reduction.
Zayed chaired the Population Session "Building Consensus on a Common African Position on Population" in the presence of Dr. Robert Shakanda, Deputy Minister of Planning and Reform of Sierra Leone Hospitals, and Dr. Mohamed Mirawi, Minister of Health and Reform of Hospitals and Population in Algeria.
Unemployment is one of the most important factors in population growth and states should reduce it and encourage employment, which would help reduce fertility rates.
She explained that Egypt supports the population conference to be held next November in Nairobi, Kenya's capital city, calling on all civil society organizations, the private sector, governments and all concerned parties. to support this conference which will address the issue of the population 25 years after the Cairo conference of 1994.
