Jeff Bezos has sold about $ 1.8 billion of his stake in Amazon. This is perhaps the biggest sale of Amazon since its birth in 20 years.
The company's CEO sold 960,000 shares worth $ 1,900 in the last three days of July, representing 1.6% of Pezos' total stake in the company, Business Insider said.
The reason why Bezos decided to sell his shares at that time is unclear because he refused to give information about what happened. But it is worth mentioning that he told reporters in 2017 his plans to sell about $ 1 billion worth of company shares a year to finance his company "Blue Origin" for exploration Space. In addition, Bezos and his former wife pledged $ 2 billion in 2018 to launch the "Day One Fund" project to help displaced families and set up preparatory schools.
Bezos also transferred 19.7 million shares to his ex-wife, making him the company's second largest single shareholder, according to Bloomberg. His 4% stake in the company is $ 37 billion. According to Forbes estimates, Pezzo's net worth will be about $ 115 billion.
