(Reuters) – Camilla Giorgi ended the surprise rally of young American Katie McNally by winning two straight sets in the semifinals of the Washington Open on Saturday.
The Italian, who hits hard and who has had the experience of coming back after injuries to the wrist and ankle, took advantage of a break in the first set before taking it to 17. years in the second set to take 7-6 6-2.

The defeat of Klinska ended Russia's bid for a third consecutive title in the US capital, after Ekaterina Makarova and Svetlana Kuznetsova won the last two editions.
