MADRID (Reuters) – Almiría has signed a contract with Portugal coach Pedro Emmanuel, the former Saudi coach, to become coach next season.
Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the Saudi General Authority for Recreation, was the owner of Almería last Friday after his experience with the Egyptian pyramids last season.
The Spanish club, via its official account on the social networking site "Twitter", has released a video of the Portuguese coach, welcome to lead the team during the coming period.
This comes just hours after Almeria announced the termination of its contract with former Spanish coach Oscar Fernandez.
Pedro Emanuel has formed several clubs, notably as badistant coach of the Porto, Coimbra and Estoril teams.
The most successful experience of the Portuguese coach in the Saudi team, during which he worked as technical director last season, earned him third place in the Saudi championship standings.
Emmanuel also led the cooperation to win the guard cup of the two holy mosques, before leaving the team after the end of his contract at the end of last season.
Turki Al-Sheikh wants to lead Almiría in the Spanish league next season to continue his previous successes with the Egyptian pyramids.
The chairman of the General Authority of Entertainment in Saudi Arabia acquired Pyramids last season and managed to take third place and qualify for the African Confederation for the first time in its history.
Pedro Emmanuel will start his match with Almeria on Saturday, when he will face Albacete in the first round of the Spanish second division.
