A lot of work awaits us after the disappointing result of Hungary

Ferrari was only half a second off the first pole of the Hungarian qualifiers after a remarkable third place on the Hangaroring circuit and was unable to compete with Mercedes and Reid in the race.

As Vettel replaced the third and inside the new crown platform, the difference between him and Lewis Hamilton's winner was over the threshold of the minute.

Vettel admitted that much of the work was waiting for his team to return to the competition after the summer break, although he noted that some of the tracks would match the characteristics of the S90 90, which would give them luck.

"We could not keep up with this weekend," he said, "we still have a lot of work to do."

"We may need to recharge our batteries," he said. "There will be more suitable tracks for us, but we need to be more powerful."

"I do not know what others are doing to develop their engines, but on paper, they seem to be better than us, we know we have a margin.

"I do not think we're going to calm down in two weeks, so we're going to come up with good ideas for the second half of the season."

Vettel was fourth in the first period, but he extended his presence on the track until the 40th lap in order to move to Soft and finish the race.

"We were in fourth place and we had nothing to lose, of course," Ferrari driver said.

"We stayed very long on the track during the first period in the hope that it would be enough to finish the race with soft tires, and that's what really happened."

"I managed to reduce the gap and I had a chance to grab it."
