Dr. Khaled Mujahid, advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Information Affairs and official spokesperson for the Ministry, confirmed that the Minister of Health had decided to bear the costs the restoration, retrofitting and rehabilitation of the Institute of Oncology through the Arab Contractors Company, former medical building after the presentation to Dr. Mostafa Madbouly. The ministers, stressing that there was no difference between health benefits and university hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education, funds of the Egyptian state and intended to serve the patients, highlighting the return of the Institute to its full potential as quickly as possible.
Mujahid added that the minister had instructed Dr. Mohamed Salah, head of the hospital and educational institutions, to badign him a full role allowing him to manage the Institute of Oncology of the Sugar Institute of the Ministry of Health, so that it can fulfill its role until it is re-equipped.
Mujahid said the minister had met Dr. Hatem Abulgasim, dean of the National Institute of Oncology, as well as professors, consultants and administrators working in this institute, and had confirmed to provide them with all aspects its support and exploit the potential of the Ministry of Health to restore the functioning of the Institute as quickly as possible.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Salah, Head of the Hospital and Educational Institutions Directorate, said that the Minister had ordered a state of emergency to raise the state of emergency in hospitals and institutions. immediately after the accident, because of its proximity to the Institute of Oncology, in addition to providing seats for all patients of the Institute, if any, and to confirm the good state of the premises. Health facilities and especially educational institutions should receive all cases.
Dr. Hatem Abulgasim, Dean of the National Institute of Oncology, thanked the Minister of Health and Population for his full support, noting that the cooperation between the Ministries of Health, Population and Higher Education had been starting for many years and still affected the benefit of Egyptian patients, pointing out that there was no injury among the patients of the Institute. The damage caused by the accident is being finalized.
